    Raven WitherspoonUnited States of America

    Virginia Commonwealth University

    Raven Witherspoon attends Virginia Commonwealth University’s Honors College, majoring in Physics with minors
    in Political Science and International Social Justice. She has cultivated these passions through her work at Surry
    Nuclear Power Station and the Virginia General Assembly. A Virginia Commonwealth University Diversity
    Ambassador, Raven leads dialogues about intersectional justice and recently completed the national Poor People’s
    Campaign Student Organizing Fellowship. Raven is also a Confucius Institute Honoree and delegate for the 2020
    China-America Student Conference. She currently conducts nonproliferation research at Brookhaven National
    Laboratory and aspires to a career promoting international nuclear disarmament. She is from the United States of

    WaiKai (Richard) Wong graduated from Brown University in 2020 with a double degree in international relations
    and economics. At Brown, he was a member and co-captain of the men’s volleyball team, a political economy
    contributor to the Intercollegiate Financial Journal, and a participant in the U.S.-China Summit. He is a sensitive
    observer of politics, passionate about education and technology, and is highly interested in the execution of foreign
    relations. He is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Shanghai Yinweishen Education Technology Ltd., and
    Shanghai Yinweishen Communications Ltd., focused on facilitating and reforming the educational system through
    technology. Richard was born in Hong Kong and completed primary and secondary school at the Western Academy
    ofBeijing.HeisanativespeakerofEnglishandMandarinChinese,andisproficientinCantonese,ItalianandSpanish.
    He divides his time between Beijing, Hong Kong, Italy, and the United States. Wai Kai (Richard) Wong is from Hong

    Kefei WuChina

    New York University

    Kefei (Fisher) Wu graduated cum laude from New York University Abu Dhabi with a degree in psychology. After
    graduation, Kefeiworked for the Abu Dhabi government and delivered several strategic projects across higher
    education, food security, and entrepreneurship. She now works as a consultant at Roland Berger, Dubai. In 2019, she
    was elected member of the UAE Youth Advisory Council on SDGs. As one of the two foreign members, she helped
    shape UAE's youth SDGs agenda from the perspective of a young professional ex-pat. Kefei is also an endurance
    equestrian athlete, spending most of her spare time on horseback. Kefei is from China.

    Yida XiaoChina

    Peking University, Johns Hopkins University

    YidaXiao completed his master’s degree at Johns Hopkins SAIS, concentrating on American Foreign Policy and
    International Economics. He received a bachelor‘s degree in Arabic Language and Literature from Peking University
    where he was a Chun-Tsung Scholar. Yida has developed broad interests in exploring China’s emerging ties with the
    Middle East. He co-founded China-Arabia Multicultural Exchange Link (CAMEL) program and co-headed the
    inaugural China-Middle East Youth Dialogue Forum. Yida also helped a Beijing-based unicorn company to enter the
    Middle East market, and researched for the Middle East Institute (MEI) in Washington, D.C. Yida is from China.

    Mingqi XieChina

    Tsinghua University

    Mingqi Xiegraduated from Tsinghua University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and international
    relations. Her research field during graduate study is computational political communication, focused on the
    interaction between armed conflict, weapon proliferation and international communication in the digital era. She
    interned at the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs, where she drafted the first “Hypersonic Weapons Global
    Awareness” online education program. Her previous experiences include Carnegie-Tsinghua Center, South Centre
    (Geneva), CGTN, CISS, Seoul National University, Daimler and World Peace Forum. She also works as Forum
    Alpbach Network Ambassador China. With her language capabilities in English, Korean and French, Mingqi devotes
    great effort to youth engagement and cross-cultural communication, specially focusing on peace and security issues
    in Northeast Asia. Mingqi is from China.

    Xiaoheng XuChina

    Renmin University of China, Harvard University

    Xiaoheng(Sally) Xu graduated from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2014 with a master’s degree in human
    development and psychology and earned her bachelor’s degree from Renmin University of China. After graduation,
    Sally joined Country Garden, the largest real estate company in China through the Future Leaders management trainee
    program and was responsible for overseas recruitment and branding. In 2015, she switched to the educational side and
    joined Bright Scholar Education Group (BEDU) as the Executive Assistant to the CEO. During her spare time, Sally
    has devoted herself to volunteer work: she has followed the mission of HGSE by "learning to change the world”
    herself. Whether in the Republic of Moldova, India, or rural areas of China, you can always find her helping kids from
    underprivileged families. Xiaoheng is from China.

    Kexuan XuChina

    Fudan University

    Kexuan(Pearl)XuwillgraduatewithanLLBdegreefromFudanUniversityin2021.AtFudan,sheservedasPresident
    of the Law School Student Union and received national scholarships. With passion for education and social
    entrepreneurship, Kexuan co-founded an education start-up, Edvisor, and served as a partner of Project Guangyuan,
    an education NGO aiming to eliminate digital divide for poor students during and after the COVID-19 outbreak.
    Kexuan wrote her dissertation on prisoner education at the University of Cambridge and continued this research in
    Shanghai. As an exchange Juris Doctor (JD)student at Columbia University, she worked on K-12 education
    investment programs and legal clinics in New York. She also interned at ByteDance for EdTech strategy. At
    Schwarzman College, Kexuan aspires to explore effective models to build education equitythrough law and business.

    Hehao XuChina

    Bates College

    Hehao (Bob) Xu graduated from Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and minor in East Asian
    studies. Hehaoserved as the co-captain of the Bates men’s ice hockey team. In his senior year, Hehao organized the
    first international collegiate ice hockey tournament in Chinese history. After graduation, he was recruited by the
    Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Game Organizing Committee. Before joining Schwarzman Scholars, he will work as
    a full-time ice hockey sport assistant in the Beijing 2022 Winter Games. Hehao hopes to create a professional ice
    hockey league in China. Hehao is from China.

    After graduating with a bachelor's in economics with general honors from the University of Chicago, Sheng (Kristina)
    Yu worked at the investment banking and capital markets division at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. She was an
    executive board member at Credit Suisse HK charity committee and received Credit Suisse CEO Leadership Award
    in 2017. Currently, Kristina works as an Assistant General Manager at Evergrande New Energy Automotive Group,
    responsiblefor overseas subsidiaries relatedbusiness.Meanwhile, she assumes leadershiprolesasthe Secretary Board
    of Directors at Protean Electrics and e-Traction. Through Schwarzman Scholars, she hopes to deepen her
    understanding of China’s economic policy and business environment, bring greater value to the company, and strive
    to become an executive leader in the technology industry in the longer-term. Kristina is from China.

    Ryan Zhang will graduate in 2021 from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in Social Studies and Minors in
    Data Science and Chinese. He has worked at the U.K. Foreign Office, the Congressional Research Service, and
    alongside Nobel-winning economists at MIT’s Poverty Action Lab. As Chair of Harvard’s Public Policy Program, he
    authored research briefs for the U.S. Congress, the Executive Director of the Peace Corps, and UNAIDS. Ryan is
    passionate about promoting economic opportunity among underprivileged communities and hopes to pursue a career
    inelected politics. Ryan is from the United States of America and Canada.

    Alexander Zhao is a senior at the University of California, Berkeley who aims to apply his experience in machine
    learning and data visualization to expand the scope of journalism to tell data-driven stories in technology and
    economics. As a student in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Alexander published research on biased
    algorithms and recommender systems and currently serves as an editor for the data projects team at the University of
    California, Berkeley's student newspaper. Alexander hopes to improve our ability to assess fairness in algorithms

    Jason W. Zhou is an aspiring strategist and analyst on U.S.-China relations. Jason is the Evans Hanson Fellow at the
    Institute for the Study of War (ISW), where he has co-written reports on ISIS and Syrian diplomacy and briefed
    military audiences. Jason also works at the intersection of intelligence and technology, incorporating new technology
    tools into ISW’s workflows. Jason participated in the 2018 Hertog War Studies Program and has taken additional
    advanced courses on Russian hybrid warfare and Clausewitz. Jason graduated from the University of Chicago with a

    Xinlei (Courtney) Zhu graduated from Northwestern University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and
    minor in Global Health Studies. She leads the venture acceleration team at MATTER, a global healthcare innovation
    hub, and oversees a growing portfolio of 225+ early-stage digital health and life sciences startups in scaling their
    businesses. Prior to MATTER, she interned at the United Nations, working on strategic coordination of procurement
    and financing for international development projects.As a Schwarzman Scholar, Courtney aims to study China’s
    emerging role in global health development, innovation and policy. Courtney is from the United States of America.
