China's Transformation and Its Potential Global Implications, Dr. Xiang Bing PhD

2018.01.08

About the event

Three generations of Chinese entrepreneurs have driven explosive growth since 1978, but what does the future hold? At this lecture, Dr. Xiang Bing will discuss the new models and strategies that Chinese companies have adopted in the context of globalization. He will also offer an in-depth analysis of China’s paradigm-shifting new business models – their challenges and limitations, the prevailing myths and realities that characterize China, and the resulting implications for the world. By such sharing, Dr. Xiang Bing expects to help participants develop a clearer outlook for China as well as formulate better China strategies.

Speaker

Dr. Xiang Bing is the Founding Dean and Professor of China Business and Globalization at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), which is China’s first privately-funded and faculty-governed business school with headquarters in Beijing, teaching sites in Shanghai and Shenzhen and representative offices in Hong Kong, London and New York.

Dr. Xiang’s research interests include reform of state-owned enterprises, innovation and the role of the private sector in China. He is a leading authority on Chinese business, innovations in China, globalization of Chinese companies and global implications of China’s transformation. Dean Xiang is also a key advocator of ‘New Business Civilization’ (新商业文明). His writings and cases on these subjects are considered among the most influential in China.

Dr. Xiang has served as keynote speaker or panelist at influential forums and conferences in China and around the world. Recent speaking engagements include World Economic Forum, Bo’ao Forum for Asia, Fortune Global Forum, Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum, FT Banking Summit, Harvard China Forum, Yale CEO Summit, etc.
