On March 21, Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, met with Stephen A. Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO and co-founder of Blackstone Group on March 21st in the Gongzi Hall at Tsinghua University.

Qiu Yong welcomed Mr. Schwarzman on behalf of the university and thanked him for his continued support on Schwarzman College. He described the college as a special gift from Mr. Schwarzman to the university and one of Tsinghua’s top priorities. Tsinghua will fully support the college, in cultivating well- rounded future leaders with global vision and outstanding leadership.

Mr. Schwarzman said that the Schwarzman Scholars program holds great significance. He was pleased to see that many brilliant young students were about to start school life at Tsinghua, where they would learn more about China, develop their abilities, and contribute to world youth exchanges. He hoped that both sides would deepen cooperation and jointly promote the program.

The two sides also exchanged views on operation mechanisms, management, and talent cultivation at Schwarzman College. Schwarzman College Dean David Daokui Li and Executive Dean David Pan were also present at the meeting.
