On August 23rd, Yang Bin, Vice President and Provost of Tsinghua University visited Schwarzman College to meet the first cohort of Schwarzman Scholars and spoke with student representatives. David Pan, Executive Dean of the college, was also present.

On behalf of Tsinghua University, Yang Bin welcomed the students and encouraged them to go out of the college to explore the Tsinghua campus, get to better understand Beijing and China. Yang Bin also briefed the students on the latest development of Tsinghua University, and shared his experiences of studying at Tsinghua.
At the meeting, Yang Bin listened carefully to the students as they spoke about their first two-day experience in the college, and asked in detail about their official registration process. Later, Yang Bin visited the student dormitory to take a closer look at their college life.
Schwarzman scholars who attended the meeting include: Italo Ribeiro Alves from Brazil, Aaron Goldstein and Alina Luk from the United States, Huang Cheng from the Chinese Mainland, Danal Mavunga from Zimbabwe, Tan Ailin from Macau SAR, Jasmin Stadler from Switzerland, and Samuel Hsiao from Taiwan. The students expressed that they were honored to be selected into this program and there are really looking forward to the coming year at the college.
