On March 21st, a donation ceremony was held at the Gongzi Hall between Tsinghua Unigroup and Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University. Yang Bin, Tsinghua University’s Vice President and Chairman of the Education Foundation, and Li Jiaqiang, Tsinghua University’s Deputy Secretary General and Secretary-General of the Education Foundation, jointly signed a donation agreement with Tsinghua Unigroup’s Chairman Victor Zhao. Blackstone Chairman, CEO and co-founder Stephen Schwarzman also attended the ceremony along with Schwarzman College Dean David Li and Executive Dean David Pan.

 On behalf of Tsinghua University, Yang Bin thanked Victor Zhao and Tsinghua Unigroup for their great support to the university and Schwarzman Scholars program. He acknowledged the strategic significance of Tsinghua Unigroup’s role in supporting Schwarzman College, noting that the program is oriented towards long-term strategic goals empowering Tsinghua to face global challenges with its mandate of cultivating future leaders in the international community.

 Victor Zhao expressed that, as a high-tech enterprise affiliated with Tsinghua University, Tsinghua Unigroup strongly commends Schwarzman College’s education philosophy. The group is committed to developing the modern information industry, from chips to cloud computing and is currently employing an internationalized strategy for rapid development. Mr. Zhao hopes that further integrated cooperation and exchanges between the two sides will foster a stronger relationship in the future.

 According to the donation agreement, Tsinghua Unigroup will make a donation this year to support the construction of Schwarzman College and become a founding partner.  In return, the College will permanently establish a “Tsinghua Unigroup Ltd. Classroom” in honor of its contribution.
