December 19, 2014, President Chen Jining met with Pan Shiyi and Zhang Xin, Chairman and CEO of SOHO China. David Daokui Li, Dean of Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University, and David Pan, the Executive Dean also attended the meeting.

Chen Jining extended welcome to Pan Shiyi and Zhang Xin on behalf of Tsinghua University and introduced the university in the aspects of history, talent cultivating, education innovation and international cooperation. Chen especially talked about the latest development of Schwarzman Scholars Program. He said, Tsinghua University has been making extensive efforts on fully deepening the reform and development of education and teaching as well as on encouraging international exchanges and cooperation, in order to cultivate more outstanding talents who are well prepared for future global challenges.

 Pan Shiyi and Zhang Xin introduced the SOHO China Scholarships and said they were very glad to be at Tsinghua University. SOHO China is always concerned with the development of Chinese education and looking forward to strengthen the cooperation with Tsinghua University in the future. Two parties then had a further discussion on potential cooperation.

 After the meeting, Pan Shiyi and Zhang Xin visited the construction site of Schwarzman College and had another meeting with David Daokui Li and David Pan at Schwarzman Scholars’ office.
