Micah Jumpp is pursuing an M.A. in Geography at Binghamton University, where her Mandarin rap won her a scholarship to China. Micah founded a grassroots movement, challenging her home school district to promote racial justice. She called four board sit-ins, resulting in culturally-responsive committees in 15 schools. She coaches and is a board member of a 78-member, predominantly-minority swim team that teaches lifesaving skills. Micah believes poverty alleviation lies at the intersection of law, collective action, and proximity. She anticipates creating an international organization that deploys movement lawyers globally, collaborating with communities to challenge poverty. Micah is from the United States.
